Four-Day Creative Retreat

Registration open, spots still available!
A four-day retreat at Hollyhock, outdoors amidst the natural autumn wonders of gardens and forests of Cortes Island. Inspired by Ikebana, Japanese floral arrangement from the Sogetsu School, we will work with found and cultivated plants and flowers. Arranging in low vases, suiban and sketching indoors we include tinted Japanese washi papers for simplified line and gesture drawing and collage.

Recent Work
I would like to share a series of new floral banners. March Folly Series (2025) is a mixed-media collection of banners on Washi paper. Each is 39 x 15 inches. The bolder linear quality of Sennelier chalk pastels punctuates the overall meshing, layering and dipping of liquid acrylics including metallics.

ATTENTION!! VAJRA YOGA workshops
coming soon to Victoria!
“My studies and practice of hatha yoga began in the late 1990’s during a particular ‘dry spell’ in my Buddhist Kagyu ngondro period. I felt stuck and sensed that my challenges might reside in my physical body, including my ideas about body/mind. I have had the great fortune of studying under excellent dedicated and well trained teachers. I completed a two year teacher training in Montreal in the early 2000’s. Currently I continue practice and study with yoga and Buddhist teachers. I invite you to join in a space of shared ‘well-being’ where everyone can experience their authentic selves. As in all teachings, you are always the ‘boss’ of you, I will be a guide." - Heather
